Chapel of St. Sebastian

Unfortunately, this chapel had to give way to the expansion of the former Landstrasse, today Churer Strasse. As early as 1935, the new St. Sebastian and St. Rochus chapel was built a little further north on today’s St. Sebastianstrasse.

In addition to a crucifix from the high altar of the demolished chapel, the smallest bell from 1709 could be moved into the new chapel. This bell was restored at the beginning of the 2000s and is now rung on special church occasions, for example at the church patronage mass and on Brother’s Day. The Brotherhood of St. Sebastian was founded in 1623 and will be 400 years old in 2023. The patronage is celebrated on a Sunday around January 19th of the calendar year. The Sebastian Brotherhood immediately on the following Monday. In 1694, Pope Innocent XII approved. the brotherhood in a brief and presented them with specific indulgences.
